Projects

The Center for Applied Ecology has evaluated, restored and helped protect some of the most ecologically significant forest, wetland, and aquatic ecosystems in the Northern Kentucky / Greater Cincinnati region. Through comprehensive resource assessments and geographic information systems mapping, the Center has helped land managers and agencies prioritize conservation efforts and implement landscape-level planning.

The Center has stabilized and restored many miles of Northern Kentucky streams through the Stream and Wetland Restoration Fund. Using innovative stream engineering and habitat restoration techniques, the Center has helped to prevent soil erosion and improve water quality.
